Mrs. Cora Amelia Ewbank, one of the most respected women of this place, died at her home Friday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock. Mrs. Ewbank has been in failing health for several years. She underwent an operation for goitre some time ago and death was due to complications arising from the ailment. Mrs. Ewbank was a highly esteemed member of the Waveland Methodist Church. Until her illness forced her to be confined to her home, Mrs. Ewbank was an active worker for the church. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Liddle. She was born in Guilford, Indiana on July 24, 1865. Her marriage to Russell S. Ewbank took place Dec 29, 1887. Most of her life was spent in Benton Co. With her husband she moved to Waveland in 1916. Mr. Ewbank preceeded his wife in death by several months. Survivors are two sons, Webb of Waveland (note from KZ Webb was the janitor at the school when I was young and was one of the nicest men I've ever met) and Amos of South Bend; four daughters, Lucile Buser of Waveland, Ruth Davis of Rockville and Helen and Leona at home; six grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Liddle of Ramona, Ks; Oliver of Tulsa, Ok; and Wilbur of Jennings, La and three sisters, Mrs. C.S. Crocker of North Vernon, Mrs. George E. Sheik of Tulsa and Miss Viola Liddle of Guilford, Ind. Funeral services on Sun. afternoon at the Methodist Church were in charge of Rev.C.B.Stanforth. Burial at Maple Ridge cem.
